So today was quite an activity filled day of cave tubing, zip lining, visiting the zoo and even feeding a jaguar. It was simply phenomenal! The cave tubing a lot more passive than I thought it would be, but I still enjoyed floating down a river while staring at crystals and limestone. Imagine floating down a river and passing through caves while lying on an inner tube. It was really relaxing. The zip lining was amazing! Not as much of an adrenalin rush as skydiving, but it was definitely exciting to slide down a cable from 80 feet up in the air. We hiked to the highest platform and ziplined across 5 platforms until we finally rappelled back down to the ground. Last but not least, we visited the Belize City Zoo and met some crocodiles, pumas, parrots, and the even got to feed and pet a jaguar. His name was junior buddy.
I'm sure the others are uploading pictures so in the meantime here are some fun facts we've encountered so far:
- We've started a tally on who has the most mosquito bites and where we were bitten. I have two on the arch and sole of my foot, Di has several on her legs, and Bev....well she just can't stop scratching.
- We've also been challenging a lot of our fears. Bev is afraid of tarantulas (ahem...Bev!) and screeched and hid at the sight of one. Haha..only to find out there was another tarantula right behind us. Yikes! Di is somewhat afraid of heights and she ziplined and flew like a natural. I'm claustrophobic and afraid of dark enclosed spaces and the hour long cave tour turned out more peaceful than it was challenging.
- Since we're Asian, we're immediately assumed to be Chinese
- Upon learning that Bev is fasting meat for lent and that I'm strict vegetarian, most of the restaurant servers have looked at us like we're crazy and literally offered to feed us grass. I actually offered to take the offer and the guy ran out of words.
- The clumsy person that I am rammed my head into an electric shock barbed wire. Thank the Lord the current was off or my eye would have exploded and I would have gone home looking like a pirate.
- Who needs Rite-Aid when there's Bev with a lifetime supply of every medicine, first aid and ointment in the world
- Best drink so far is called a panty ripper which is basically coconut rum mixed with pineapple.
I should end this now, while I still have time to rest and prepare for our Lamanai Mayan ruin tour first thing in the morning. We plan on crossing a river, hiking up a mountain and visiting an old ritual ground that the Mayans used.

Yeah, had some of that famous panty ripper stuff in San Pedro. Didn't quite live up to it's name. At least I'm pretty sure my panties weren't ripped off.
